Learning Resources - Supervised School Experience 9.01

9.01 Personal Evaluation. Describe your personal strengths and weaknesses reflected through PDE Performance Standards.

Introduction

As an educational practice, standards are established by an authority and serve as a measure of value or an exemplary performance and as benchmarks. Although standards are general statements of value or intent, standards connote excellence. But what does excellence look like for Technology Coordinators? While there is no blueprint for excellence, the good news is that you are now afforded the opportunity to help define excellence in the field.

As you begin preparing for the actual practicum experience, you will need to develop a thoughtful and reflective paper that is organized through PDE's "Performance" standards. Your thoughtful and reflective paper will help to demonstrate your professional interpretations and understanding of PDE's Performance standards and will also help to document your personal growth and development in the field. The paper that you create for this competency will then be used as a building block for your well-developed practicum plan in competency 9.02. More importantly, the paper that you develop will help to map out the road to excellence for Specialists in Instructional Technology.
