Copyright
Laws. Describe current copyright laws,
including:
- Video (rented videos as well as recorded
broadcasts)
- Audio
- Software
- Resources downloaded from the Internet
Introduction
Copyright law serves to protect the creator of
an original peace of work or effort. In the classroom
teachers and students are constantly creating their own
work as well as using the work created by others. The
school purchases the right to use learning materials such
as textbooks and videos. At the same time students are
publishing their work on the Internet. As a technology
coordinator, you are responsible for educating teachers
and students on how copyright laws exist to protect their
own creative efforts as well as the efforts of
others.
