Learning Resources - Curriculum 3.02

3.02 Learning Experience. Develop at least one effective technology-based learning experience (CAI lesson or website designed to accomplish educational objectives.)

Introduction

In the course of your work as a technology specialist, you will have to apply the curriculum development process in the design of a technology based learning experience. Perhaps you will need to teach an audience about the use of e-mail, HTML editors, excel, or computers as assistive learning devices. No matter what your subject, you will want to make sure your students/educators master the objectives so that they can intergrate their new computer based technology skill set in their teaching and classrooms. And all instruction begins with a list of measurable objectives.

Your Job:

  1. Use the details provided below to create a product that addresses and demonstrates mastery of this competency.

    Product Details:

    • In INSYS 462, develop at least one effective technology-based learning experience (CAI lesson or website designed) to accomplish a specific set of educational objectives. For the learning experience, please include the:
      • Title,
      • goal,
      • set of measurable objectives that help to specify what the learner (an educator) will know and be able to do as a result of this learning experience,
      • amount of time that it will take to complete the learning experience,
      • a discussion of any other considerations that are relevant to the lesson, and
      • feedback and assessment system that you will use to determine the effectiveness of the learning experience that you created.
    • Consider developing a technology based learning experience that would be appropriate for a variety of educators because competency 3.03 requires evidence of assisting at least three teachers of different subjects and grade levels in the integration of computer-based technologies into their teaching and classrooms. Therefore, after you successfully develop a technology based learning experience, you can then work one-on-one with three different educators to better support implementation of their new computer based technology skills within educators' individual classrooms and lessons and fulfill the requirments of competency 3.03.
    • Consider creating a lesson that also helps to fulfill competency 2.01.
