Introduction

You just received the funding to publish the district's technology newsletter, "Educational Technology Newsletter", on the Internet. This Web based version of the newsletter will reach a much larger audience than its print version. If appropriate, you will use sound and video with the feature article, and hyperlinks will allow you to create a dynamic learning environment. Using e-mail and threaded discussions we can even develop a dialogue between readers and writers. Now, if you only knew HTML!

Your Job:

  1. Use the details provided below to create a product that addresses and demonstrates mastery of this competency.
  2. Use the stepwise process listed under Your Portfolio to display the completed product in your ITSC portfolio.

    Product Details:

    • Use HTML or an HTML Editor to create the "index" page to your web-based portfolio and also to edit the portfolio template provided.
    • Your personal web-based portfolio will fulfill this competency if you included all of the criteria listed:
      • Text of different sizes and colors,
      • Bold and italic text,
      • At least one image,
      • At least one link to another page and with a link back,
      • At least one image that functions as a link,
      • A "mailto" link that will send mail to you,
      • A small table,
      • A list (numbered or unnumbered),
      • A colored background,
      • At least one "image map"

Your Portfolio:

  1. FTP your completed product for this competency to the "1media" folder within the web-based portfolio template provided.
  2. Click here to view the "Devel" page in the portfolio template.
  3. Download the "Devel" page from your ftp folder.
  4. Locate 1.13 HTML & HTML Software on the "Devel" page.

  6. Link the word "here" to the index page of your portfolio.
  7. Delete the old "Devel" page in your ftp folder.
  8. Upload your revised "Devel" page.
  9. Click here to view the "Manage" page in the portfolio template.
  10. Download the "Manage" page from your ftp folder.
  11. Locate 1.13 HTML & HTML Software on the "Manage" page.

  13. Link the word "here" to the index page of your portfolio
  14. Delete the old "Manage" page in your ftp folder.
