Welcome...
Update
- Applications are no longer being accepted
for the program described within this Web
site unless you have completed INSYS
462 prior to Fall 2005.
Prior to June 1,
2005, the ITSC program at Penn State was a
stand-alone program. Because PDE revised who
needs ITS certification, the Specialist in
Instructional Technology certification will
be incorporated into our new Educational
Technology on-line Masters program and will
be offered as an option within this Masters
program. Please contact Dr. Popp
(davepopp@psu.edu) for information related to
working within the Educational Technology
Masters program to earn PSU's recommendation
to PDE for issuance of a Specialist in
Instruction Technology certificate.
If you completed
INSYS 462 prior to Fall 2005, you may contact
Janice Ascolese (itsc@psu.edu) for
information related to entering the ITSC
program detailed within this Web site.

Penn State is currently
one of more than twenty
universities
authorized to prepare and then recommend
candidates to the Pennsylvania Department of
Education (PDE) for certification as
Instructional Technology Specialists. Penn State
was also one of three
universities authorized to prepare and recommend
candidates to PDE for Instructional
Technology Supervisor
certification.
At Penn State, we're employing the learning
technologies we want schools to use to provide
an effective and efficient system to prepare our
share of the hundreds of qualified IT
specialists Pennsylvania needs. The purpose of
this site is to help you to understand the
process of earning Penn State's recommendation
to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for
issuance of a Level One Certificate as a
Specialist in Instructional
Technology.
