We're sure you've been aware--as we have too--of the great irony in the fact that the CHANGE website has seen very little change over the past couple of years.  Frankly, much of this stagnation has been the result of the tremendous change that has been transforming not only your Council but also AECT as a whole during this time.

While AECT restructured itself to focus more on its core constituencies, it was difficult to know from day to day enough reliable information to make an update worthwhile.  And as your elected leadership was fighting occasionally for our very existence as a part of AECT, too little time was often available for member communications.

Now that the situation has stabilized somewhat, we're going to fix that.  This new website--as you can see, a complete overhaul--marks only the first step.  Not only are we committed to restoring our communications
to our members, but also to engaging you more and more in the dialog that allows us to benefit from one another's research and professional practice.

Please come back often--you
will continue to see changes--and become an active participant in making CHANGE happen.  We can't do it without you!

CHANGE Pioneers a New Type of Conference Session This Year in Atlanta

For several years now, AECT members have talked about "breaking the mold" of the traditional conference session--a one-way, linear monologue followed by a brief question-and-answer period.  We have even been taken to task for not using in our conference the technologies that we are there to discuss  But what other forms might a session take?

This year, the CHANGE Council will pilot test one possible framework for this "session of the future."  It begins with a
TechTrends article written by CHANGE founder Dr. Charlie Reigeluth and introduced by the CHANGE leadership.  This article invites readers to view an introductory Web-based presentation, then to join in one or more of several  asynchronous electronic discussions of the major topics discussed, in groups moderated by leading experts in that domain.  The session will  culminate in a ninety-minute Presidential Session at the AECT Atlanta conference, where these groups will share and synthesize their findings.
