AECT Council on Systemic Change

CHANGE Sessions at AECT

Credit for the above images goes to the website for the City of Atlanta, where AECT will hold its 2001 International Conference from 7-10 November.  The Council for Systemic Change is anticipating a strong program for this conference, having received dozens of high-quality proposals, which are now being evaluated using a peer review process. Proposals under consideration range in content from policy issues to practical hands on experience with systemic change.

CHANGE is also planning an exciting keynote that will challenge our traditional ideas about what a "conference session" is.  Titled "Surfing the Third Wave: An Information Age 'Meta-Session' on the Future of Our Profession and Practice," this innovative event will actually begin before the conference--early this fall--with an article in
TechTrends by CHANGE founder Dr. Charlie Reigeluth, introduced by the 2001 CHANGE leadership team.  The article will invite readers to the session's home page, where they will be able to view an introductory Web-based presentation, then to join in one or more of several asynchronous electronic discussions of the major topics discussed, in groups moderated by leading experts in that domain.  The session will  culminate in a ninety-minute Presidential Session at the AECT Atlanta conference, where these groups will share and synthesize their findings.

Check back often during the next few months, as proposals are reviewed, accepted, and posted here.  This year, as key presenters are notified that their proposals have been accepted, we are going to be asking them to provide underlying papers and other supporting materials on-line, so that prospective attendees can plan their conference calendars and arrive prepared to be active participants in a dynamic conversation.
